“Private label” and “co-packing” get used interchangeably, but they describe different things — and understanding the difference helps you brief a contract packager correctly.
Private label vs. co-packing
Private label usually means selling a product made to a standard formula under your own brand and label. Co-packing (contract packaging) means a partner fills and packages your product — often your own formula — into the formats you sell. Co-manufacturing goes further and produces or blends the product itself. Minimus Products offers co-packing and co-manufacturing, and can package products under your brand.
What to prepare
Bring your formula or product, your target formats and pack sizes, your artwork or label specs (we can supply die-line templates), and your volume expectations. The clearer your brief, the faster and more accurate your quote.
Componentry and sourcing
A strong partner helps with componentry — labels, packets, bags, boxes, bottles, and jars — and can source these for you to ensure everything is compatible with their equipment. That reduces delays and surprises during your run.
Build a brand, not just a batch
For emerging brands, the goal is a repeatable, scalable production partner. Learn how Minimus Products works with brands, or get in touch to discuss your private-label or co-packing project.
